Waist measurements are taken flat. From here it can grow up to about 15cm in all directions.
The size is compact around the waist and hips to minimize interference with the harness. We recommend a roomy size to accommodate climbing movements. The XS size is also suitable for kids from 150cm. The model is 173cm tall and weighs 53kg, and size S fits perfectly. I like the M size because it's easy to move around in. If the Fish-PT Long fits just right around the hips, please consider going up one size for the 9 inch Short.
